Foreign invasions, trade relations and colonialism had introduced certain foods to the country like potato, chillies and breadfruit.

Ingredients for Moong Mauth Chaat Recipe

  • Green Gram sprouted 1 cup

  • Mauth 1 cup

  • Salt to taste

  • Turmeric powder a pinch

  • Onion ,chopped 1 small

  • Green capsicum chopped 1 small

  • Tomato chopped 1 small

  • Green chillies chopped 2

  • Roasted cumin powder 1/4 teaspoon

  • Red chilli powder (deghi mirch) 1/4 teaspoon

  • Amchur powder 1 teaspoon

  • Raw mango grated 1 small

  • Oil 1 tablespoon

  • Lemon juice 2 teaspoons

  • Chaat masala 2 teaspoon


Step 1

Boil the moong and mauth sprouts separately in two cups of water each with a pinch of salt and a pinch of turmeric powder for about three to four minutes..

Step 2

Drain immediately. Leave them in a colander so that all the water is drained away and cool. Mix sprouted moong and mauth with onion, capsicum, tomato, green chillies, roasted cumin seeds, red chilli powder, amchur powder, grated raw mango and oil.

Step 3

Mix lemon juice, chaat masala and salt and pour over salad. Mix well and serve immediately .
