Ingredients list for Jain Missi Roti

  • 3-4 tablespoons Whole wheat flour (atta)
  • 3-4 tablespoons Gram flour (besan)
  • 4-5 tablespoons Soyabean flour
  • 2-3 Green chillies finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Cabbage finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh coriander finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoons Dried pomegranate seeds (anardana)
  • ¼ teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin - Coriander powder

Method

  1. Mix gram flour, soy bean flour and wheat flour in a bowl.
  2. Add chillies, cabbage, coriander, pomegranate kernels, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander-cumin powder, garam masala powder and salt.
  3. Add oil and water and knead into a soft dough. Set aside for 5 minutes.
  4. Heat a non-stick tawa.
  5. Divide the dough into equal portions, shape them into balls and roll out a thin disc.
  6. Place the missi roti on hot tawa, drizzle oil and shallow-fry on both the sides till done.
  7. Garnish with butter and serve with yogurt.
