Foreign invasions, trade relations and colonialism had introduced certain foods to the country like potato, chillies and breadfruit.

Ingredients for Indian Salad With Mango Dressing Recipe

  • Tinned pineapple drained and cut into 1-inch cubes 3 slices

  • Mango pulp 1/2 cup

  • Banana peeled and cut into 1-inch cubes 1

  • Tomato seeded and quartered 1 large

  • Green capsicum cut into 1 inch cubes 1 medium

  • Orange separated into segments 1

  • Apple unpeeled and cut into 1-inch cubes 1 medium

  • Thick yogurt 1/2 cup

  • Lemon juice 1 tablespoon

  • Cream 1 tablespoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Red chilli powder to taste


Step 1

Place all the salad ingredients in a large bowl, cover with cling film and place in a refrigerator to chill thoroughly.

Step 2

Meanwhile, make the mango dressing: mix together all the ingredients till smooth. Chill thoroughly. Just before serving, pour the dressing over the salad and serve chilled.
