Be a kid or a teenage or an adult or an oldie, chicken lovers trend all over the world at all times! One meat that is a favourite of all beyond belief! When cooked, it can be presented in many guises. Sauté it, fry it, toss it, bake it, steam it – eat it the way you want to. Whatever its form may be upon being cooked, its flavour may change but its flesh remains high in protein, low in fat and can be digested easily.

Ingredients for Honeyed Chicken Wings Recipe

  • Chicken Wings 16-20

  • Honey 4 tablespoons

  • Cornflour/ corn starch 1/2 cup

  • Garlic crushed 2 cloves

  • Oil 2 tablespoons

  • Light soy sauce 2 tablespoons

  • Hoisin sauce 2 tablespoons

  • Red chilli flakes 2 tablespoons

  • Salt to taste

  • Lemon juice 1 teaspoon

  • Sesame seeds (til) toasted 1 tablespoon

Method

Step 1

Wash and pat dry the chicken wings. Mix two tablespoons of cornflour in one cup of water and reserve the rest for dusting the chicken wings.

Step 2

Heat sufficient oil in a wok or a pan, dust the chicken wings with the remaining cornflour and deep-fry turning frequently, for about four to five minutes.

Step 3

Drain on absorbent paper. Heat two tablespoons of oil in a wok or a pan, add the garlic and stir-fry for half a minute.

Step 4

Immediately add the light soy sauce, hoisin sauce, chilli flakes and salt.

Step 5

Add the fried chicken wings and stir in the cornflour mixture. Cook on medium to high heat for a minute, stirring continuously.

Step 6

Lower the heat and stir in the lemon juice and honey, mix well and cook further on medium heat for a couple of minutes. Sprinkle the toasted sesame seeds and serve hot.
