Honeyed Chicken Wings

Ingredients list for Honeyed Chicken Wings

  • 16-20 Chicken Wings
  • 4 tablespoons Honey
  • 1/2 cup Cornflour/ corn starch
  • 2 cloves Garlic crushed
  • 2 tablespoons Oil
  • 2 tablespoons Light soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Red chilli flakes
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame seeds (til) toasted

Method

  1. Wash and pat dry the chicken wings. Mix two tablespoons of cornflour in one cup of water and reserve the rest for dusting the chicken wings.
  2. Heat sufficient oil in a wok or a pan, dust the chicken wings with the remaining cornflour and deep-fry turning frequently, for about four to five minutes.
  3. Drain on absorbent paper. Heat two tablespoons of oil in a wok or a pan, add the garlic and stir-fry for half a minute.
  4. Immediately add the light soy sauce, hoisin sauce, chilli flakes and salt.
  5. Add the fried chicken wings and stir in the cornflour mixture. Cook on medium to high heat for a minute, stirring continuously.
  6. Lower the heat and stir in the lemon juice and honey, mix well and cook further on medium heat for a couple of minutes. Sprinkle the toasted sesame seeds and serve hot.
