Ingredients list for Gode Mutton
- 1 kilogram Mutton 1 1/2 inch pieces on the bone
- 1 1/2 tablespoons Garlic Paste
- 1 1/2 tablespoons Ginger paste
- to taste Salt
- 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 2 teaspoons Caraway seeds (shahi jeera)
- 2 Green cardamoms
- 1 inch stick Cinnamon
- 4 Cloves
- 4 tablespoons Ghee
- 2 tablespoons Fresh coriander leaves,chopped
Method
- Apply ginger paste, garlic paste, salt and turmeric powder to the mutton pieces and set aside for two hours preferably in a refrigerator.
- Roast caraway seeds, green cardamoms, cinnamon and cloves, lightly on a thick tawa, separately. Mix, cool and grind to a fine power in a mortar with a pestle. Heat ghee in a pan, add the marinated mutton and sauté for four to five minutes.
- Add two cups of water and bring it to a boil. Simmer on low heat till mutton is almost done. Add the prepared masala powder and adjust salt if necessary.
- Serve hot garnished with coriander leaves.
