You should always stack your fridge with at least a dozen of them. Why? Handiest food to have around! Kids are hungry? Make some egg sandwiches. Guests come in, make an egg curry or egg biryani. You are hungry? Poach an egg and have it topped with stir fried veggies – perfect protein source for the body! Check the freshness – keep a raw egg in a bowl of water. Fresh eggs will stay at the bottom while stale eggs stand on end or float.

Ingredients for Egg Chops Recipe

  • Eggs boiled 4

  • Potatoes boiled peeled and mashed 4 medium

  • Cheese grated 1/2 cup

  • Bread 4 slices

  • Salt to taste

  • Black pepper powder 2 teaspoons

  • Butter 2 teaspoons

  • Egg 2

  • Semolina (rawa/suji) 1 cup

  • Oil to deep fry


Step 1

Soak bread slices and squeeze them. In a bowl combine together boiled potatoes, cheese, bread, salt, black pepper powder, butter and mix well.

Step 2

Divide the mixture into sixteen equal portions. Take one piece of boiled egg and coat it with the mixture. Repeat the same for the remaining eggs.

Step 3

Heat oil in a non stick kadai, dip the balls int the eggs, coat with semolina and deep fry till golden brown. Serve hot with green chutney.
