Foreign invasions, trade relations and colonialism had introduced certain foods to the country like potato, chillies and breadfruit.

Ingredients for Dum Kebab (Meatloaf) Recipe

  • Mutton Mince 1/2 kilogram

  • Yogurt 2/3 cup

  • Eggs 2

  • Ginger paste 1 tablespoon

  • Garlic paste 1 tablespoon

  • Green chilli chopped 1

  • Garam masala 1 tablespoon

  • Papaya paste 1/4 tablespoon

  • Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon

  • Onion 1/2 cup

  • Salt to taste

  • coriander leaves chopped 2 tablespoons

  • Lemon juice for garnish

  • Oil 2 tablespoons

Method

Step 1

Preheat oven to 180°C.

Step 2

In a bowl, add mutton mince, yogurt, egg, ginger paste, garlic paste, green chillies, garam masala, papaya, red chilli powder, fried onions, salt, lemon juice and mix well.

Step 3

Grease the pie dish with oil and pour the mixture into it.

Step 4

Cover the pie dish with aluminium foil and bake for fifteen to twenty minutes.

Step 5

Cut into squares and serve hot garnish with chopped coriander.
