History of Indian cuisine dates back to nearly 5,000-years ago when various groups and cultures interacted with India that led to a diversity of flavours and regional cuisines.
Indian cuisine comprises of a number of regional cuisines.  The diversity in soil type, climate, culture, ethnic group and occupations, these cuisines differ from each other mainly due to the use of locally available spices, herbs, vegetables and fruits. Indian food is also influenced by religious and cultural choices and traditions. 
Foreign invasions, trade relations and colonialism had introduced certain foods to the country like potato, chillies and breadfruit.

Ingredients for Chutney Dosa Recipe

  • Dosa Batter 3 cup

  • Fresh Coriander Leaves 1/4 cup

  • Fresh mint leaves chopped 1/4 cup

  • Fresh coriander leaves 1/2 cup

  • Ginger chopped 1 inch piece

  • Green chilli chopped 1

  • Pomegranate seeds (anardana) 1 tablespoon

  • Black salt (kala namak) 1/2 teaspoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Oil 1 tablespoon

Method

Step 1

Put coriander and mint leaves into a mixer jar.

Step 2

Chop ginger and green chilli and add along with pomegranate seeds, black salt and salt and grind to a smooth chutney.

Step 3

Add yogurt and grind again. Add to dosa batter and mix well.

Step 4

Heat a non stick dosa tawa. Pour a ladle of dosa batter and spread to round dosa.

Step 5

Increase heat, drizzle oil all around and cook, turning sides, till it becomes golden and crisp on both sides. Serve hot.
