Ingredients for Chilli Hoppers Recipe

  • Bhavnagri green chillies 16 small

  • Mozzarella cheese grated 1 cup

  • Garlic chopped 4-5 cloves

  • Red chilli flakes 1 teaspoon

  • Black peppercorns crushed 5-6

  • Fresh parsley chopped 2 tablespoons

  • Refined flour (maida) 3/4 cup

  • Cornflour/ corn starch 1 cup

  • Baking powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Oil to deep fry


Step 1

Mix cheese, chopped garlic, crushed red chillies, crushed black peppercorns, chopped fresh parsley in a bowl.

Step 2

Slit the chillies and remove the seeds. Stuff them with the cheese mixture. Set aside.

Step 3

Mix refined flour, cornflour, baking powder and salt in a bowl. Add sufficient water and whisk to make a smooth and thick batter. Rest the batter for ten minutes.

Step 4

Heat sufficient oil in a deep pan. Dip each stuffed chilli in the flour batter and deep-fry till crisp. They will not turn brown but remain white.

Step 5

Drain onto an absorbent paper and serve hot.
