Ingredients list for Chatpate Jeera Aloo

  • 20-24 Baby Potatoes boiled and peeled
  • 2 teaspoons Cumin Seeds roasted and powdered
  • 4 teaspoons Tamarind chutney
  • 4 tablespoons Ghee
  • 1 inch Ginger cut into thin strips
  • 1/2 teaspoon Crushed black peppercorns
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Garam masala powder
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh coriander leaves chopped

Method

  1. Heat ghee in a non-stick pan. Reserve some of the ginger strips for garnishing and add the rest to the pan and sauté for half a minute.
  2. Add the baby potatoes and toss and sauté till light golden.
  3. Add the crushed peppercorns, salt, garam masala powder and roasted cumin powder and mix well.
  4. Add the tamarind chutney and coriander leaves and mix well and cook for a minute.
  5. Transfer into a serving dish and serve hot garnished with the reserved ginger strips.
