Put gram flour in a bowl, add salt, cumin powder and asafoetida and the prepared mixture and mix well. Knead into a dough. Divide the mixture into balls and place each ball on a wooden worktop, stretch them straight to make a fafda. Similarly prepare the rest. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai, deep-fry the fafada till yellow and crisp on both the sides. Sprinkle salt and crushed peppercorns.
