Ingredients list for Chakli Sticks-SK Khazana

  • 2 cups Rice
  • 1/2 cup Split skinless black gram (dhuli urad dal)
  • 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin powder
  • to taste Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • for greasi to deep fry Oil

Method

  1. Dry roast rice and black gram separately. Remove from heat, cool and grind together to a fine powder. Transfer into a mixing bowl.
  2. Add chilli powder, cumin powder, salt and butter and knead well. Add ½ cup water and knead to a soft dough.
  3. Grease a chakli press with some oil and fill in the dough.
  4. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Press in chakli strips directly into hot oil and deep-fry till golden brown. Drain on absorbent paper and cool.
  5. Serve or store in airtight container.
