Ingredients list for Bun Puri

  • 2½ cups + Refined flour (maida)
  • to taste Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Baking powder
  • a pinch Baking soda
  • 2 tablespoons Powdered sugar
  • 1 Banana ripe
  • 1/2 cup Yogurt
  • for deep-frying Oil

Method

  1. Combine refined flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, mashed banana and yogurt in a bowl. Add sufficient water and knead into a soft dough and set aside for 2-3 hours.
  2. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.
  3. Divide dough into equal portions shaped into medium sized balls. Roll out into 4 inch round puris dusting with little flour.
  4. Dust off excess flour and deep-fry puris in hot oil, turning sides, till they puff up and golden. Drain on absorbent paper.
  5. Serve hot.
