Ingredients list for Brown Basmati Pulao

  • 1 1/2 cups Brown Rice soaked for 1 hour and drain
  • 1 medium Carrots
  • 1 inch stick Cinnamon
  • 2-3 Cloves
  • 1 Bay leaf
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 2 medium Carrots cut into ½ inch pieces
  • 1/4 medium Cauliflower separated into small florets
  • 10-12 French beans cut into ½ inch pieces
  • 2 Green chillies slit
  • to taste Salt

Method

  1. Slice onions.
    Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add cinnamon, cloves, bay leaf and cumin seeds and sauté till cumin seeds change colour.
  2. Add onions and sauté till light brown.
    Add carrots, cauliflower, beans and green chillies.
  3. Toss well and add brown rice.
    Mix well and add 4 cups water and salt.
  4. Mix again and bring to a boil.
    Cover and cook on low heat till done.
  5. Serve hot.
