Ingredients list for Breaded Chicken with Garlic Sauce
- 450 grams Boneless chicken breasts strips
- for coating Bread crumbs
- 2 tablespoons Garlic chopped
- 2 teaspoons Red chilli flakes
- to taste Black peppercorns crushed
- to taste Salt
- 2 teaspoons Soy sauce
- + to deep fry Oil 1 tablespoon
- 1 tablespoon Cornflour/ corn starch
- 1 Spring onion greens finely chopped
- 1 Egg
- for coating Refined flour (maida)
Method
- Take chicken in a bowl. Add 1 teaspoon chilli flakes, crushed peppercorns, salt, 1 tablespoon chopped garlic and soy sauce and mix well. Set aside to marinate for 30 minutes.
- To prepare garlic sauce, heat 1 tablespoon oil in a non-stick pan. Add remaining garlic and saute for 10-15 seconds. Add ½ teaspoon chilli flakes, crushed peppercorns and salt and mix well. Add some water, mix and cook for 1-2 minutes.
- Dissolve cornstarch in some water to make smooth slurry, add to the pan and mix well. Add spring onion greens, mix and cook till it thickens.
- Heat sufficient oil in a deep pan.
- Break an egg in a bowl, add some water and whisk well. Set aside.
- Take refined flour in another bowl. Add salt, crushed peppercorns and remaining chilli flakes and mix well.
- Coat marinated chicken with refined flour mixture and place on a plate. Dip in egg mixture and coat with breadcrumbs. Deep-fry in hot oil till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
- Serve hot with garlic sauce.
