Foreign invasions, trade relations and colonialism had introduced certain foods to the country like potato, chillies and breadfruit.

Ingredients for Bread Sev Puri Recipe

  • Brown Bread Slices 4

  • Sev blanched 1/2 cup

  • Potatoes boiled, peeled and mashed 2 large

  • Onions,chopped 2 medium

  • Green chutney as required

  • Red chilli Garlic Chutney as required

  • Sweet date and tamarind chutney as required

  • Salt to taste

  • Chaat masala as required

  • Red chilli powder 1/4 teaspoon

  • Raw mango chopped 1 small

  • Sev 1 cup

  • Fresh coriander leaves chopped 2 tablespoons


Step 1

Using a small round cookie cutter cut roundels from brown bread slices, press them lightly and place them in a non stick pan and toast them till golden and crisp. Mix corn and potatoes in a bowl.

Step 2

Arrange the bread roundels on a serving plate, put some potato-corn mixture on each of them and press lightly.

Step 3

Top it with onions, green chutney, red chilli garlic chutney, tamarind chutney. Sprinkle salt, chaat masala, red chilli powder, fine sev, raw mango and coriander leaves and serve immediately.
