Corn was indigenous to America, but is now grown throughout the world. It is used as a vegetable, briefly boiled or roasted or eaten with butter. And it would also interest you to know that the favourite popcorn, made by popping the small corn kernels, is a wholesome cereal food and is easily digested. Besides this, corn sees its use in various other ways – salads, soups, subzis and even sweets too!

Cook time : 11-15 minutes

Ingredients for Babycorn Fritters - SK Khazana Recipe

  • Babycorns 12-16

  • Refined flour (maida) 1 cup

  • Rice flour 1/2 cup

  • Cornflour 4 tablespoons

  • Salt to taste

  • Black peppercorns crushed 1 pinch

  • Oil to deep fry

  • Sweet chilli sauce to serve

  • Micro greens to garnish


Step 1

Take refined flour, rice flour, 2 tbsps cornflour, salt, black pepper powder add sufficient chilled water and mix well into a smooth and slightly thick batter.

Step 2

Heat sufficient oil in pan

Step 3

Take babycorn in a bowl, add remaining cornflour and mix well. Dip each babycorn in batter and deep-fry in oil till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.

Step 4

Transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with micro greens and serve hot.
