Ingredients
- 1½ cups chopped dark chocolate
- 1¼ cups butter + for brushing
- 1½ cups castor sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
- 1 cup refined flour (maida)
- ⅓ cup chopped walnuts + for sprinkling
- Chopped milk chocolate for sprinkling
- Vanilla ice cream to serve
Method
- Preheat oven to 180ºC.
- Take together butter and chocolate in a bowl and heat in the microwave till it melts.
- Take castor sugar in another bowl. Break the eggs into it, add vanilla essence and beat with an electric beater till the mixture turns light and fluffy.
- Add the melted chocolate-butter mixture to the beaten eggs and continue to beat till well combined.
- Sift the refined flour into this bowl, add walnuts and beat well.
- Grease an 8 inch iron skillet with some butter.
- Transfer the batter into the skillet and sprinkle walnuts and milk chocolate. Place the skillet in the preheated oven and bake for 40-45 minutes.
- Take the skillet out of the oven and allow to cool down to room temperature. Cut into wedges, place each wedge in individual serving plates and serve topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
