Ingredients
- ½ cup semolina (rawa)
- ¼ cup almonds
- 4½ cups full fat milk
- A large pinch of saffron
- ½ cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons rose water
- Slivered almonds to serve
- Silver warq for garnish
Method
- Put semolina in a strainer and wash thoroughly with sufficient water for 2-3 times.
- Put almonds in a blender jar and blend to a fine powder.
- Bring milk to a boil in a deep non-stick pan. Add saffron and mix well. Stir continuously and cook for 3-4 minutes.
- Add semolina and almond powder, mix and cook, stirring continuously, till the mixture thickens.
- Add sugar, mix and cook till it melts.
- Take the pan off the heat, add rose water and mix well.
- Transfer the mixture into individual earthen serving bowls. Sprinkle slivered almonds, place them in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours or till cooled completely.
- Garnish with silver warq. Serve chilled.
