Method

  1. Put semolina in a strainer and wash thoroughly with sufficient water for 2-3 times.
  2. Put almonds in a blender jar and blend to a fine powder. 
  3. Bring milk to a boil in a deep non-stick pan. Add saffron and mix well. Stir continuously and cook for 3-4 minutes. 
  4. Add semolina and almond powder, mix and cook, stirring continuously, till the mixture thickens. 
  5. Add sugar, mix and cook till it melts. 
  6. Take the pan off the heat, add rose water and mix well. 
  7. Transfer the mixture into individual earthen serving bowls. Sprinkle slivered almonds, place them in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours or till cooled completely. 
  8. Garnish with silver warq. Serve chilled.
