Ingredients
- 2 cups grated raw papaya
- ¾ cup sugar
- A small pinch of onion seeds (kalonji)
- A large pinch of fennel seeds (saunf)
- A small pinch of red chilli flakes
- A pinch of salt
Method
- Heat a non-stick pan, add papaya and sugar, mix well and cook till the mixture turns translucent.
- Add ¼ cup water, mix, cover and cook for 8-10 minutes or till soft.
- Add onion seeds, fennel seeds, red chilli flakes and salt, mix well and cook for 1-2 minutes.
- Take the pan off the heat and allow to cool completely. Store in an air tight container and use as required.
