Ingredients
- 450 ml red wine
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar – 70 gms
- 1½ inch cinnamon
- 3 cloves
- A pinch nutmeg powder
- A pinch of crushed black peppercorns
- 2 star anise
Method
- Heat wine in a deep non-stick pan. Add brown sugar and mix till it melts. Add cinnamon, cloves and crushed peppercorns and mix.
- Add nutmeg and star anise, mix and cook for 1-2 minutes on low heat, stirring occasionally. Strain in a bowl.
- Pour in individual serving wine glasses, place a cinnamon stick in and serve warm.
