Ingredients list for Cinnamon Rolls-SK Khazana
- 2 cups Refined flour (maida) sifted
- 1 tablespoon Activated yeast
- 2 tablespoons Castor sugar
- 2 tablespo for greasing Melted butter
- 1 tablespoon Sour cream
- 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla essence
- to taste Salt
- 1 Egg
- to sprinkle Pistachio powder
- For topping Walnuts chopped
- For topping Raisins
- for brushi Milk
- Filling
- 1 teaspoon Cinnamon (dalchini) powder
- 1 cup Brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon Nutmeg (jaiphal) powder
Method
- Mix together flour, yeast, castor sugar, butter, sour cream, vanilla essence, salt and egg in a bowl. Knead into a soft dough and set aside to prove.
- Grease a glass baking dish with some butter.
- To make the filling, mix together brown sugar, nutmeg powder and cinnamon powder in another bowl.
- Knock back the dough, divide into equal portions and roll out into sheets. Brush some melted butter on top.
- Sprinkle a portion of filling and some pistachio powder, top with some walnuts and some raisins. Roll into cylinders and cut into thick slices.
- Arrange the slices in the greased dish, cover with a damp muslin cloth and set in a warm place for 1½ hours.
- Preheat the oven at 180˚C.
- Brush the rolls with some milk, put the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes or till golden brown.
- Serve warm.
