Melon Sorbet

During the hot summer days one needs something that is light and refreshing to soothe the palate. Here is a non-dairy frozen dessert made from pureed muskmelon, maple syrup and lemon juice to enhance the flavour.

  1. Peel, remove the seeds and cut muskmelon into ½ inch pieces. Transfer them into a zip lock bag and freeze for 6-8 hours.
  2. Transfer the frozen melon into a grinder jar, add salt and squeeze the juice of lemon.
  3. Add vanilla essence, maple syrup and ½ cup water and grind coarsely.
  4. Transfer into an airtight container, cover and freeze for 3-4 hours.
  5. Scoop out into serving bowls, garnish with mint sprigs and serve chilled.
