Ingredients
- 2 cups scraped fresh coconut
- 2 tablespoons ghee
- ¾ teaspoon green cardamom powder
- ½ cup sugar
- ¼ cup cocoa powder
- Pistachios powder for sprinkling
Method
- Heat ghee in a non-stick pan, add coconut and sauté for 3-4 minutes.
- Add green cardamom powder, mix well and continue to sauté for 1-2 minutes.
- Add sugar, mix and cook, stirring continuously, till the sugar dissolves. Reserve half the mixture in a bowl.
- Add cocoa powder to the remaining mixture in the pan and mix till well combined.
- Transfer the mixture into a greased burfi tray and spread it evenly. Press it firmly and level the top. Spread the reserved mixture over this evenly as well. Press and level the top. Sprinkle pistachios powder and press.
- Keep this aside for 1-2 hours.
- Cut the burfi into equal squares and de-mould. Arrange them on a serving plate and serve.
