Ingredients
- 3 cups grated mawa / khoya
- Ghee for greasing
- ½ cup sugar
- 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
- Silver varq for garnish
Method
- Grease a tray with ghee.
- Heat a thick-bottomed non-stick pan, add mawa and cook stirring continuously, till it melts completely and has a thick sauce like consistency, ensuring that the colour does not change colour.
- Add sugar and stir till it is melts completely and mawa is cooked.
- Pour half of this mixture into the greased tray and spread evenly. For spreading the mawa evenly on the tray, hold the tray from two sides and tap it on a hard surface 2-3 times. Let it cool.
- Add cocoa powder to the remaining half in the pan, mix well and cook on low heat for 1-2 minutes.
- Pour the cocoa mixture over the earlier mixture and spread it evenly. Let it cool completely and set for 2-3 hours.
- Garnish with silver varq, cut into pieces, arrange on a serving plate and serve.
