Ingredients list for Wheat Dosa

  • 1 cup Whole wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon Rice flour
  • a pinch Asafoetida (hing)
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Grated ginger
  • 1 teaspoon Green chillies chopped
  • 5-6 Curry leaves
  • 1 teaspoon Cilantro chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Roasted cumin seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black pepper powder
  • 1 small Onion finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup Carrots grated
  • 3 teaspoons Yogurt
  • 3 tablespoons Oil

Method

  1. In a bowl combine together whole wheat flour, rice flour, asafoetida, salt, ginger, green chillies, cilentro, roasted cumin seeds, onions, carrots, yogurt and sufficient water and make a thick consistancy batter.
  2. Heat oil in a non stick tawa and pour a laddleful of batter on it and spread it in a circular motion as thin as possible.
  3. Drizzle a little oil all around and let the dosa cook on medium heat. When ready the edges will begin to separate from the tawa.
  4. Remove and serve hot with chutney.
