Ingredients list for Vella Fae
- 1 cup Semolina (rawa/suji)
- for cooking Ghee ½ teaspoon +
- ½ cup Sugar
- 1 tablespoon Cashewnuts broken
- 1 teaspoon Green cardamom powder
- a pinch Soda bicarbonate
- ¾ cup Milk
Method
- Dry roast semolina in a non-stick pan till fragrant.
- Heat ½ teaspoon ghee in another non-stick pan. Add semolina, mix and sauté on low heat till 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat, transfer into a bowl and cool down to room temperature.
- Add sugar, cashewnuts, cardamom powder and soda bicarbonate. Add milk gradually and mix well to make a smooth batter. Set aside for 10 minutes.
- Heat a paniyaram pan. Pour a few drops of ghee in each dent. Pour a spoonful of batter into each dent, cover and cook on low heat for 2-3 minutes on each side or till they become fluffy and golden.
- Serve immediately.
