Ingredients list for Vegetable Tempura

  • 1 medium Carrot
  • 1 medium Red Capsicum
  • 1 medium Yellow capsicum
  • 1 medium Green capsicum
  • 1 medium Onion
  • 1/2 medium Cauliflower
  • for deep-frying Oil
  • 3/4 cup Refined flour (maida)
  • to taste Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon White pepper powder
  • as required Ice cubes


  1. Heat sufficient oil in a deep non-stick pan. Diagonally slice the carrot. Cut all the capsicums into thick strips. Cut onion into rings. Separate the cauliflower florets.
  2. Mix refined flour with salt and white pepper powder in a bowl. Add sufficient water and 10-12 ice cubes and whisk to make a smooth batter.
  3. Dip vegetables one by one in the batter, slide into hot oil and deep fry till crisp and golden brown.
  4. Drain on absorbent paper and serve hot.
