Tomato-Onion Chutney

Ingredients
- 3 tomato chopped
- 2 onion chopped
- 1 tablespoon split black gram skinless (dhuli urad dal)
- 2-3 dried red chillies
- 1 inch piece ginger chopped
- Salt to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon red chilli powder
- 1/2 teaspoon sambhar powder
Method
- Heat a pan, add urad dal and roast till lightly browned. Add red chillies and onions and continue to roast. Add tomatoes, ginger, salt and red chilli powder and mix.
- Add sambhar powder and mix. Take it off the heat and set aside to cool. Grind to a fine paste. Serve with dosa or idli or uttappam.
