Ingredients list for Tawa Aloo Sandwich

  • 3 Large potatoes boiled, peeled and mashed
  • 8 White bread slices
  • 1 Small onion chopped
  • 3 tablespoons Fresh coriander leaves chopped
  • to taste Salt
  • 2 Green chillies chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon Chaat masla
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 1 tablespoon Schezwan sauce
  • as required Butter
  • to serve Green chutney
  • to serve Tomato ketchup

Method

  1. Take mashed potatoes in a bowl, add onion, coriander leaves, salt, green chillies, chaat masala powder, red chilli powder and Schezwan sauce and mix well.
  2. Apply butter on 4 slices of bread, place some potato stuffing on each of them and spread evenly. Place cheese slices on top of potato mixture.
  3. Place the remaining slices of bread over the cheese slices, apply butter on top of each sandwich.
  4. Heat a non-stick tawa, place the prepared sandwiches with the buttered side facing the tawa, apply butter on top and cook the sandwiches, turning sides till evenly golden brown on both sides.
  5. Cut the sandwiches in half diagonally, arrange them on serving platter and serve hot with green chutney and tomato ketchup.
