Ingredients list for Tandoori Prawns

  • 12-16 Big prawns , shelled and deveined with tails intact
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons Ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 tablespoons Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 2 teaspoons Kashmiri red chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garam masala powder
  • 4 tablespoons Gram flour
  • 1/2 cup Hung yogurt
  • to serve Onion rings
  • to serve Lemon wedges
  • to serve Green chutney

Method

  1. Take prawns in a bowl, add salt, lemon juice and 2 teaspoons ginger-garlic paste and mix well. Keep aside to marinate.
  2. Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, garam masala powder and gram flour, mix and sauté for a minute. Transfer into a bowl and cool down to room temperature. Add hung yogurt, remaining ginger-garlic paste and salt and mix well.
  3. Add prawns and mix well. Set aside to marinate for 30 minutes.
  4. Preheat an oven at 200º C.
  5. Arrange the marinated prawns on a baking tray, keep the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 10-15 minutes.
  6. Arrange on a serving plate, garnish with onion rings, lemon wedges and coriander sprigs and serve hot with green chutney.
