Ingredients list for Sweet Potato Snack Gnocchi

  • 3 medium Sweet potatoes boiled, peeled and mashed
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese powder
  • a pinch Nutmeg powder
  • 1 Egg yolk
  • to taste Salt
  • ¾ teaspoon Crushed black peppercorns
  • + for dusting Refined flour (maida) ½ cup
  • for deep-frying Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • ½ teaspoon Paprika
  • to taste Salt
  • 3 tablespoons Parmesan cheese powder

Method

  1. Combine the potatoes, parmesan cheese powder, nutmeg powder, egg yolk, salt, half teaspoon crushed peppercorns and flour in a bowl, mix and knead into a soft dough.
  2. Mix together the ingredients for the seasoning and set aside.
  3. Roll the dough into a cylinder of two centimeter diameter and further cut into one inch pieces. Dust them with flour, press them with a fork lightly to flatten a little.
  4. Heat sufficient oil in a pan. Deep-fry the prepared gnocchis till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
  5. Sprinkle the seasoning on top and mix lightly. Serve immediately.
