Ingredients
- 1 small broccoli, separated into florets
- 200 grams tofu, cut into 1/2 inch pieces
- 8-10 black peppercorns, crushed
- 2-3 spring onions with greens
- Salt to taste
- 3 tablespoons oil
- 1 inch ginger piece, chopped
- 3-4 garlic cloves, chopped
- 1 stalk celery, chopped
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon castor sugar (caster sugar)
- A pinch of MSG
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
Method
- Trim and chop spring onions along with the greens. Keep aside the greens for garnish. Heat sufficient water in a pan.
- Add salt and blanch broccoli florets in it. Drain. Heat oil in a wok. Add chopped ginger, garlic, celery and sauté. Add sliced spring onions and stir. Stir in soy sauce, tofu, sugar and salt.
- Mix well. Add blanched broccoli and mix. Add a pinch of MSG, lemon juice, crushed peppercorns and mix well. Garnish with spring onion greens, stir and serve hot.
