Ingredients list for Spicy Chicken Legs
- 4 Chicken legs
- ½ cup Dried red chillies soaked
- 2 tablespoons Lemon juice
- to taste Salt
- 1 teaspoon Crushed black peppercorns
- 1 medium Onion
- 6-8 Garlic cloves
- 2 tablespoons Tomato ketchup
- for greasing Oil 1 tablespoon +
Method
- Make incisions on the chicken leg pieces and place them in a bowl.Add 1 tablespoon lemon juice, salt and a little crushed black pepper, mix well and set aside to marinate for 5-10 minutes.
- Roughly chop onion and put into a grinder jar. Add garlic and red chillies. Grind to a coarse paste.
- Add remaining lemon juice, salt, remaining crushed peppercorns and tomato ketchup and grind again.
- Add the ground paste to chicken and mix well. Set aside to marinate for 30-40 minutes.
- Preheat oven at 180ºC. Grease a baking tray with oil.
- Heat oil in a non-stick pan and place chicken legs on it.Cook on high heat for 2 minutes on each side.
- Place the seared chicken legs on the greased baking tray. Place the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 15-18 minutes.
- Serve hot.
