And did you always think that eating a potato will make you fat?
Well, don’t – it is a surprising source of vitamin C and provides useful amounts of starch, thiamine and niacin and around a hundred grams will provide about eighty calories.

Ingredients for Shakkarkand ke Pancakes Recipe

  • Sweet Potatoes grated and soaked in water medium

  • Refined Flour 2 cups

  • Sugar 1/2 cup

  • Cinnamon powder 1/4 tsp + for sprinkling

  • Soda bicarbonate 1/2 teaspoon

  • Milk 1 cup

  • Oil 4 teaspoons

  • Butter 4 teaspoons

  • Icing sugar as required

  • Honey as required

Preparation

Step 1


Drain water from sweet potatoes and set aside.

Step 2


Whisk together refined flour, sugar, cinnamon powder, soda bicarbonate, milk and sufficient water to form a smooth batter of medium consistency. Add grated sweet potatoes and mix.

Step 3


Heat 1 tsp oil and 1 tsp butter on a non-stick tawa, pour a ladleful of batter and spread it evenly. Cook for 2-3 minutes or till the underside is golden. Flip, and cook on the other side for 2-3 minutes. Transfer onto a plate. Similarly, make all that pancakes.

Step 4


Transfer the pancakes onto a serving dish. Sprinkle some icing sugar and cinnamon powder. Drizzle some honey and serve hot.
