Ingredients list for Sausage Stuffed Chillies

  • 16 Sausages
  • 8 Bhavnagri green chillies
  • 3 tablespoons Oil
  • 1 medium Onion chopped
  • 1 inch Ginger chopped
  • 4-5 Garlic cloves chopped
  • 1/4 cup Roasted peanuts
  • 8-10 Fresh basil leaves
  • 1 Fresh red chilli
  • 2 teaspoons Honey
  • 1 Lemon
  • 1 teaspoon Dark soy sauce
  • to taste Salt


  1. Give a small slit on the chillies on one side and roast them on direct flame till lightly charred. You can also roast them in a pan or in a preheated oven.
  2. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a non stick pan, add onion, ginger and garlic and saute till fragrant. Transfer into a bowl.
  3. Heat 2 tbsps oil in the same pan, add sausages and saute till they get lightly burnt.
  4. Dip the chillies in cold water and peel them. Slit one side almost completely and remove seeds.
  5. Crush peanuts, basil leaves, red chilli, sausages, coarsely in a chopper and put into a bowl. Add dark soy sauce, honey, juice of 1 lemon and mix well. Add a pinch of salt and mix.
  6. Stuff this mixture into the chillies and serve at room temperature.
  7. You can even chill them before serving.
