Ingredients list for Raw Banana Porichathu
- 4 medium Raw Banana
- 1/2 teaspoon Rice Flour
- 4 tablespo Oil
- 1 tablespoon Red chilli powder
- 1 tablespoon Coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon Ginger-garlic paste
- to taste Salt
- 6-8 Curry leaves finely chopped
- 1/2 cup Rice flour
Method
- Peel off just a thin layer of the banana skins and slice them lengthways into one-fourth inch thick slices.
- Soak them in water to avoid discolouration. Drain and place in a glass bowl, add quarter teaspoon turmeric powder and cook in the microwave on 100% for two minutes. Drain.
- Combine together four tablespoons oil, red chilli powder, remaining turmeric powder, coriander powder and ginger-garlic paste in a bowl.
- Add salt, curry leaves and mix. Add the rice flour and mix well. Apply this masala to either side of the banana slices.
- Heat sufficient oil in a non stick pan and place the banana slices in a single layer and shallow fry, turning sides, till golden and crisp on both sides.
- Drain on absorbent paper and serve hot.
