Raw Banana Porichathu Crispy shallow-fried banana slices with masala This recipe is from FoodFood TV channel By Sanjeev Kapoor 03 Dec 2014 in Recipes Veg New Update Main Ingredients Raw Banana, Rice Flour Cuisine Kerala Course Snacks and Starters Prep Time 11-15 minutes Cook time 6-10 minutes Serve 4 Taste Mild Level of Cooking Moderate Others Veg Ingredients list for Raw Banana Porichathu 4 medium Raw Banana 1/2 teaspoon Rice Flour 4 tablespo Oil 1 tablespoon Red chilli powder 1 tablespoon Coriander powder 1 teaspoon Ginger-garlic paste to taste Salt 6-8 Curry leaves finely chopped 1/2 cup Rice flour Method Peel off just a thin layer of the banana skins and slice them lengthways into one-fourth inch thick slices. Soak them in water to avoid discolouration. Drain and place in a glass bowl, add quarter teaspoon turmeric powder and cook in the microwave on 100% for two minutes. Drain. Combine together four tablespoons oil, red chilli powder, remaining turmeric powder, coriander powder and ginger-garlic paste in a bowl. Add salt, curry leaves and mix. Add the rice flour and mix well. Apply this masala to either side of the banana slices. Heat sufficient oil in a non stick pan and place the banana slices in a single layer and shallow fry, turning sides, till golden and crisp on both sides.
