Ingredients list for Pineapple Fritters

  • 1 medium Pineapple peeled, cored and sliced
  • ½ cup Refined flour (maida)
  • 1½ teaspoons Baking soda
  • 2 tablespoons Granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • ¼ cup Milk
  • 1 Egg yolk beaten
  • ½ teaspoon Vanilla essence
  • to shallow fry Butter
  • for dusting Powdered sugar


  1. Put flour, baking soda, sugar and salt in a bowl and mix well.
  2. Put milk, egg yolk and vanilla essence in another bowl and mix well. Add this mixture to the flour mixture and whisk well to make a thick smooth batter.
  3. Heat butter in a non-stick pan.
  4. Dip pineapple slices in the batter and place them on the pan and shallow-fry, turning sides, till evenly golden on both sides. Drain on absorbent paper.
  5. Dust with powdered sugar and serve immediately.
