Ingredients list for Papaya Chutney

  • 1 medium Papaya Ripe
  • 1 tablespoon Fenugreek seeds
  • 1/4 tablespoon Fenugreek seeds (methi dana)
  • 2 tablespoons Fennel seeds (saunf)
  • 1/4 tablespoon Cumin seeds
  • 2 Whole dry red chilli
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ginger,grated
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Tamarind paste
  • 3 teaspoons Sugar
  • a pinch Salt

Method

  1. Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add fenugreek seeds, fennel seeds, cumin seeds, red chillies, ginger , turmeric powder and salt and saute for few minutes.
  2. Add papaya and cook till it becomes soft. Add sugar and tamarind paste and cook for five minutes. Serve with rotis or paranthas.
