Ingredients
- 2 cups cottage cheese (paneer), grated
 - 1 cup of corn kernels boiled
 - 8 white bread slices
 - Ready-made gram flour (besan) batter as required
 - 1 tablespoon oil
 - 2 teaspoons garlic paste
 - ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
 - ½ teaspoon asafoetida
 - 2 green chillies, chopped
 - Salt to taste
 - Oil to deep fry
 
Method
- Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a non-stick pan, add garlic paste and sauté for 30 seconds.
 - Add corn kernels, mix and sauté for 1-2 minutes. Add turmeric powder, asafoetida powder, green chillies and salt, mix well and sauté for 2 minutes.
 - Add cottage cheese, mix and cook for 1-2 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside to cool.
 - Top 4 bread slices with a generous portion of cottage cheese mixture, and cover with remaining bread slices.
 - Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.
 - Cut each sandwich into triangles, dip in gram batter and deep-fry in hot oil till golden brown. Drain on absorbent paper.
 - Arrange them on a serving platter and serve hot with tomato ketchup.
