Ingredients list for Palakwali Dal
- 15-20 Spinach roughly shredded
- ¾ cup Split green gram
- to taste Salt
- 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 2 tablespoons Oil
- a pinch Asafoetida
- 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
- 2 medium Onions finely chopped
Method
- Boil moong dal with salt and turmeric powder in two cups of water.
- Heat oil in a kadai. Add asafoetida and cumin seeds. When cumin seeds start to change colour, add onions and green chillies. Sauté till onions are soft and translucent.
- Add ginger and garlic and saute for half a minute. Add dal and bring to a boil and add spinach and lemon juice. Simmer for two minutes.
- Serve hot.
