Ingredients list for Onion Rings
- 3-4 medium Onions cut into roundels, layers separated and soaked in
- 1 cup Corn flakes
- ½ cup Brown bread crumbs
- to taste Salt
- ½ teaspoon Paparika smoked
- ¾ teaspoon Onion powder
- ¾ teaspoon Garlic Powder
- ¾ cup Whole wheat flour (atta)
- 2-3 tablespoons Yogurt
- as required Oil spray
- Dip
- 3-4 tablespoons Hung yogurt
- 1 tablespoon Cheese spread
- 1 tablespoon Garlic paste
- ½ teaspoon Paprika
- ½ teaspoon Mustard paste
- ½ teaspoon Red chilli flakes
- 1 tablespoon Chives chopped
- to taste Salt
Method
- Put the cornflakes in a bowl and crush coarsely. Add breadcrumbs and mix.
- Add salt, paprika, onion powder and garlic powder and mix well.
- Drain onion rings on absorbent paper.
- Preheat oven at 180º C.
- Mix wheat flour, salt, little water and yogurt and mix well into a lump-free coating batter. Add more water to adjust the consistency.
- Dip the onion rings in the batter and coat with the breadcrumbs mixture. Repeat the process once again.
- Spray oil on a baking tray and place the prepared onion rings on it. Spray some more oil on top, place the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes. Bring the tray out of the oven and arrange the onion rings on a serving plate.
- To make the dip, mix hung yogurt, cheese spread, garlic paste, paprika, mustard paste, chilli flakes and chives in a bowl. Add salt and mix again.
- Transfer the prepared dip into a serving bowl and serve with onion rings.
