Ingredients for Onion Rings Recipe

  • Onions cut into roundels, layers separated and soaked in 3-4 medium

  • Corn flakes 1 cup

  • Brown bread crumbs ½ cup

  • Salt to taste

  • Paparika smoked ½ teaspoon

  • Onion powder ¾ teaspoon

  • Garlic Powder ¾ teaspoon

  • Whole wheat flour (atta) ¾ cup

  • Yogurt 2-3 tablespoons

  • Oil spray as required

  • Dip

  • Hung yogurt 3-4 tablespoons

  • Cheese spread 1 tablespoon

  • Garlic paste 1 tablespoon

  • Paprika ½ teaspoon

  • Mustard paste ½ teaspoon

  • Red chilli flakes ½ teaspoon

  • Chives chopped 1 tablespoon

  • Salt to taste


Step 1

Put the cornflakes in a bowl and crush coarsely. Add breadcrumbs and mix.

Step 2

Add salt, paprika, onion powder and garlic powder and mix well.

Step 3

Drain onion rings on absorbent paper.

Step 4

Preheat oven at 180º C.

Step 5

Mix wheat flour, salt, little water and yogurt and mix well into a lump-free coating batter. Add more water to adjust the consistency.

Step 6

Dip the onion rings in the batter and coat with the breadcrumbs mixture. Repeat the process once again.

Step 7

Spray oil on a baking tray and place the prepared onion rings on it. Spray some more oil on top, place the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes. Bring the tray out of the oven and arrange the onion rings on a serving plate.

Step 8

To make the dip, mix hung yogurt, cheese spread, garlic paste, paprika, mustard paste, chilli flakes and chives in a bowl. Add salt and mix again.

Step 9

Transfer the prepared dip into a serving bowl and serve with onion rings.
