Ingredients list for Murgh Sabz Khichdi

  • 1/4 cup Chicken 1/2 inch pieces
  • Rice
  • 1/2 cup Rice soaked
  • 6-8 florets Cauliflower
  • 2 tablespoons Green peas shelled
  • 2 tablespoons Ghee
  • 4-5 Cloves
  • 5-6 Black peppercorns
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1 medium Onion finely chopped
  • 2-3 Green chillies finely chopped
  • 1 inch piece Ginger finely chopped
  • 6-8 cloves Garlic finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder

Method

  1. Heat ghee in a pan. Add cloves, black peppercorns, cumin seeds and sauté. Add onion, green chillies, ginger and garlic and sauté. Add cauliflower and chicken and mix.
  2. Add rice and dal, turmeric powder and salt and stir well. Add four cups of water and bring to a boil. Add green peas and stir. Cover and cook till done. Serve hot.
