Indian food is also influenced by religious and cultural choices and traditions. 
Foreign invasions, trade relations and colonialism had introduced certain foods to the country like potato, chillies and breadfruit.

Ingredients for Masala Soda - SK Khazana Recipe

  • Drinking soda For topping

  • Sugar 3/4 cup

  • Black salt to taste

  • Black peppercorns crushed to taste

  • Chaat masala 2 teaspoons

  • Lemon juice 4 tablespoons

  • Fresh mint leaves chopped to garnish

  • Ice cubes as required


Step 1

Heat a non-stick pan. Add sugar and 1 cup water, stir and boil till sugar melts. Remove from heat.

Step 2

Take 4 serving glasses. Put some black salt, some crushed peppercorns, ½ teaspoon chaat masala, 1 tablespoon lemon juice and ¼ cup prepared sugar syrup in each glass and stir well.

Step 3

Top with some drinking soda, garnish with mint leaves and add some ice cubes. Serve chilled!
