Ingredients
- ½ cup green gram flour (mag/moong)
- ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander-cumin powder
- Salt to taste
- 2 tablespoons oil + for greasing
- ½ tablespoon mustard seeds
Method
- Mix together green gram flour, ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder, ½ teaspoon chilli powder, ½ teaspoon coriander-cumin powder and salt in a bowl. Add 1 tablespoon oil and water as required and knead into a soft dough.
- Heat sufficient water in a non-stick pan and bring to a boil.
- Grease your palms with little oil. Divide the prepared dough into equal portions and shape into dhoklis.
- Add the prepared dhoklis to the boiling water and cook for 10-15 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Heat 1 tablespoon oil in another non-stick pan. Add mustard seeds and once they begin to splutter, add remaining turmeric powder, remaining coriander-cumin powder, remaining chilli powder and dhoklis. Add salt, mix well and cook for 5 minutes or till the oil separates.
- Serve hot.
