When cooked, it can be presented in many guises. Sauté it, fry it, toss it, bake it, steam it – eat it the way you want to. Whatever its form may be upon being cooked, its flavour may change but its flesh remains high in protein, low in fat and can be digested easily.

Ingredients for Jeera Chicken A La Sheetal Recipe

  • Chicken 1 inch cubes 300 grams

  • Roasted cumin powder

  • Roasted cumin powder 3-4 teaspoons

  • Oil 1 teaspoon

  • Butter 1 tablespoon

  • Garlic chopped 10-12 cloves

  • Green chillies chopped 4

  • Black peppercorns crushed 6-8

  • Salt to taste

  • Yogurt 1/2 cup

  • Chaat masala 1 teaspoon

  • Lemon juice 2 teaspoons

  • Spring onion greens chopped 1 stalk


Step 1

Heat one teaspoon oil and butter in a pan. Add garlic and sauté. Add green chillies, crushed black peppercorns and three teaspoons roasted cumin powder and mix.

Step 2

Add chicken pieces and mix well. Add salt and sauté till the chicken is almost done. Add yogurt and chaat masala. Mix and cook till the chicken is completely done. Add lemon juice and half the spring onion greens and stir. Cook for a minute and transfer into a serving bowl.

Step 3

Sprinkle the remaining roasted cumin powder and remaining spring onion greens and serve hot.
