How many times have we thought rice is a blessing? We use it for holy purposes but we also can pressure up a quick pulao or khichdi when hunger pangs are drumming away! This is one grain that is about 98% percent digestible. In India we are familiar with Basmati, Patna or brown rice but it is also available as Italian Rice and Glutinous Rice which is popular in Chinese and Japanese cuisines.

Ingredients for Jain Fried Rice Recipe

  • Rice 3 cups

  • Green capsicum chopped 1 medium

  • French beans stringed and chopped 10-15

  • Yellow capsicum chopped 1 medium

  • Red capsicum chopped 1 medium

  • Oil 1 tablespoon

  • Cabbage shredded 1 small

  • Salt to taste

  • Dried ginger powder (soonth) 1 teaspoon

  • Sugar 1/4 teaspoon

  • Soy sauce 2 tablespoons

  • Chilli sauce 1 1/2 tablespoons


Step 1

Heat oil in a non-stick wok, add French beans and sauté for two minutes.

Step 2

Add all the three capsicums, mix well and continue to sauté. Add cabbage, mix well and sauté for a minute.

Step 3

Add salt, dried ginger powder and sugar. Mix well and cook for two minutes.

Step 4

Add soy sauce and chilli sauce. Mix well and cook for a minute.

Step 5

Add rice, mix well and cook for two to three minutes. Serve hot.
