You should always stack your fridge with at least a dozen of them. Why? Handiest food to have around! Kids are hungry? Make some egg sandwiches. Guests come in, make an egg curry or egg biryani. You are hungry? Poach an egg and have it topped with stir fried veggies – perfect protein source for the body! Check the freshness – keep a raw egg in a bowl of water. Fresh eggs will stay at the bottom while stale eggs stand on end or float.

Ingredients for Hariyali Omelette - SK Khazana Recipe

  • Eggs 8

  • Spinach puree 4 tablespoons

  • Large onion copped 1

  • Garlic finely chopped 4 cloves

  • Green chillies chopped 4

  • Turmeric powder 1 teaspoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Cumin powder 2 teaspoons

  • Oil 8 teaspoons

  • White bread 8 slices to serve


Step 1

For each omelette break 2 eggs into a bowl, add ¼ chopped onion, ¼ chopped garlic, ¼ chopped green chilli, ¼ tsp turmeric powder, salt, ½ tsp cumin powder and 1 tbsp spinach paste and whisk till all the ingredients are well incorporated.

Step 2

Heat 2 tsps oil in a non-stick pan, pour the egg mixture, cook for 2-3 minutes or till the underside is cooked. Fold. Similarly make the rest of the omelettes.

Step 3

Serve hot with 2 slices of bread cut into triangles.
