Ingredients list for Green Sukka Chicken

  • 1 cup coriander leaves roughly chopped
  • 1/2 cup Mint leaves roughly chopped
  • 2-3 Green chillies
  • 750 grams Chicken on bone cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 1 inch Ginger
  • 4-5 Garlic cloves
  • 2-3 tablespoons Oil
  • 8-10 Curry leaves
  • 2 medium bunch Onions sliced
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black peppercorns crushed
  • Juice of 1 lemon

Method

  1. Place coriander, mint and green chillies in a mixer jar.
  2. Roughly chop the ginger and add to the mixer. Add half the garlic, salt, lemon juice and grind to a coarse paste.
  3. Add to the chicken and mix well. Set aside to marinate for fifteen to twenty minutes.
  4. Heat oil in a pan. Crush remaining garlic and add to the pan. Saute till golden brown.
  5. Add curry leaves and onion. Fry till onions are golden brown.
  6. Add the chicken and mix well.
  7. Add salt and crushed black peppercorns and mix.
  8. Cover and cook for twenty five to thirty minutes or till the chicken is cooked.
  9. Serve hot.
