Ingredients list for Fried Pumpkin
- 3 cups Ash Gourd thickly sliced
- to taste Rice Flour
- 1/4 teaspoon Baking soda
- 1/2 cup Rice flour
- 1/2 cup Gram flour (besan)
- a pinch Turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Red chilli powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Asafoetida
- to deep fry Oil
Method
- In a bowl, combine sliced ash gourd, salt and baking soda. Mix well and set aside for thirty minutes.
- Drain the excess water and allow the slices to dry.
- In another bowl, mix rice flour, gram flour, turmeric powder, salt, red chilli powder and asafoetida.
- Add sufficient water to make a smooth batter.
- Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.
- Dip the pumpkin slices in the batter and deep fry till golden brown.
- Drain on absorbent paper. Serve hot.
